Objectives: There were a few case reports on the treatment of Guillain-Barrre syndrome. We also got a good effect on one patient with this sydrome by oriental medicine.
Methods: We used acupuncture, moxibustion, physical therapy, herbal medication and exercise treatment for 28 days.
Results: Usually, most patients with Guillain-Barrre syndrome on the chronic stage have bad prognosis. But symptoms of the patient on this report - both leg weakness, numbness, walking disorder, lumbago and fatigue were improved after above treatments.
Conclusions: This case showed oriental medicine enough could be applied on difficult diseases like this syndrome as one of conservative therapies. Of course, more accurate diagnosis and research would be needed afterwards.
